We have a green . . but watch out for slippery surface.

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

I instantly thought of Dirk Bogarde, Ryan O'Neil, Sean Connery et al in "A bridge too far"

@Curly: Thanks for the reminder - what a great ensemble cast in that one! Lawrence Olivier and Michael Caine with a host of others. Dirk Bogarde was one of the forgotten greats of that period. King & Country is high on my all-time list.

Eric Cousineau from Sherwood Park, Canada

Nicely framed shot Stephen! Careful with traffic while taking this shot! ;-)

@Eric Cousineau: Thanks, Eric. Not to worry - I've reached the point in life where it is always 'safety first' into any situation. Though probably more concerned with not hurting the gear than anything else.

Ralph Jones from Detroit, United States

How do you consistently find a time to photograph these places sans of cars and people? I love the way the yellow lines lead my eye.

2 May 2011 12:09pm

@Ralph Jones: Well, that's easy Ralph. By choice I find myself up between 4 and 5 AM most every morning - including the weekends. This was taken on a rainy Sunday morning and what few cars there were, I could hear approaching from a good distance.

Denny Jump Photo from Easton, PA, United States

Magnificent Stephen....the early Photag catches no cars...but DOES catch the awesome shots...well done ;-)

great perspective and angle here, stephen! interesting details in this capture, too, e.g. the "USA" and arrow on the oncoming lane, as if alameda wasn't part of the country! ;-))

Stephen, having grown up in a land of bridges (and Mardi Gras beads), I always enjoy seeing other such venues. This shot gives the visual "feel" of crossing over. Nice camera work, my friend.

You're going to have to stop playing in the street:-) Seriously though, I like how you capture these middle of the road shots. Nicely done.

Nobody on the bridge! Great deep view of it!
