Early Spring in the Vineyards

Posted by

Sonoma - Valley-Of-The-Moon - Kenwood, California

My first home in California is just 1.4 meters (4000 ft.) from this spot. It was exactly this time of year and it was beautiful. Dry, warm, sunny days; clear, crisp nights. My home until then had been in the Washington, D.C. area. I had heretofore never set foot in California - and I was in love with this exotic, magical place. Forty-one years later - I am still here. And still loving this place.

1.4 metres is less than five feet Steven, but I can see the attraction :-) hick!

@Curly: Ha! - So right you are - forgive the amendment here to: - km - c'est la vie.

Ralph Jones from Detroit, United States

I can see why you stayed. Love the scene and the winding road leading to the building. The rolling hills and heavy atmosphere only add to the beauty.

Very moody and bleak, even - beats the oversaturated romantic vineyard pictures I so often see. By the way, I live about a mile from the Napa/Solano county border. Unfortunately I'm on the Solano side and my city is bankrupt!

I can imagine what an wonderful sight that must be to stand there surrounded by those fields.
