Molly in Sausalito

Posted by
Stephen Phillips (San Francisco, United States) on 23 March 2011 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

Our Molly posing alongside the boat lockers of the Sausalito Yacht Harbor (archival - 2005).

Last weekend I was finally able to address dozens of rolls of transparencies that had been processed but were mostly still uncut - stored in complete strips and stuck away out of sight.

These were taken in 2004 and 2005. There are some good images and I look forward to getting to them as I can. Among them are images of Jesse and Molly that I have never done a thing with. Today's post is an example.

Wait a second, she is WAY to beautiful to be related to you Stephen! :)

Nice portrait.

@Monterey John: You are correct John - Molly is a dear froend but no relation. Thanks, a lot!

Annierita & Annisabelle from New Delhi & Belle Ile, India

Taken too close , so little bit strange but still beautiful ... Annierita

@Annierita & Annisabelle: Thanks so much for your visit, Annierita. I value your thoughts. The 'too close' capture is intentional as I love the distortion of the subject in relationship to the surroundings. Some of my models like it -- some don't - and the same is true for the viewer. And so it goes...

Kenny from Eastsound, United States

Very nice portrait, I'm curious as to what lens you were using.

Wonderful, This looks like almost a macro but there is really very little distortion
to be one. Superb colors and those eyes really draw you in. Your choice of your
models is always a revelation of beauty. Molly really is. I hope to see others of
your new treasure of transparencies and negatives that you have discovered.
I envy you, I threw away, countless negatives in 2007 that I never expected to
ever be able to post on computer, since I never got a computer till mid 2007 and
did not know the possibilities.

Surprisingly good scan Stephen, I really will have to think about getting a dedicated slide scanner after the next job eventually comes along. Looking forward to seeing what you find in these film strips.

23 Mar 2011 2:53pm

@Curly: Thanks Curly - I am looking to get at these images in a big way. My guess is a great scanner will cost less than you think. I've read great things about the Canon 9000F - and it is under $200. at Amazon. I don't know what duties or charges might be involved in getting it into the U.K. - but here it is: to you.
