Very neat, nice to find a good gap in the trees which allows you to see it all in its glory - or does the park mange things that way?

@Curly: After years of what would now seem punishing abuse, our park treasures are in good hands. For the past four decades, The National Park Service has worked hard to see the parks restored to as natural a state as possible. Many campsites have been removed and vehicle access is highly limited. Reparian zones along streams and rivers are being restored.

There was a time that the rangers provided food for people to feed to the bears, they dropped burning coals off of the cliffs above The Ahwanhee Hotel to create a 'firefall' for the guest's entertainment - and they allowed people to bring in watercraft they could use on Mirror Lake - all of which seems unbelievable now. (Mirror Lake is the subject of my post tomorrow)

However, this particular spot gets a human workout. It is a short distance from Yosemite Lodge to the bae of the falls here so there is a lot of human traffic. But they would never cut a tree to create a view - what is there is there to stay for as long as Mother Nature sees fit.
