Behold - The Golden Gate

San Francisco

Those of you who view this post regularly have seen images similar to the one. But this time I prepared really well for a change. This was taken from the sunroof opening of my CRV - zipping across The Bay Bridge at 50 miles-per-hour. I got the white balance set and fired off a bunch of images trying to assure that some of them would be between the secondary suspension cables. Another one tomorrow...

From far right (to left) - Angel Island, The Belvedere Peninsula, the most distant feature is tallest mountain in the inner Bay Area - Mount Tamalpias ( 2548 ft, / 784 m.) - at center/right is Alcatraz Island - just left of Alcatraz is the town of Sausalito and the Marin Headlands, finally the Golden Gate and its iconic bridge, and at the foreground left is San Francisco

Another very nice pano, amazed it was taken from the car, I'd love to be able to see the full sized high res. version (the joys of the internet - sigh)

Thanks for that much better view, I was fascinated by all of the piers and jetties, must be a busy port operation.
