Riders in the Rain

Posted by
Stephen Phillips (San Francisco, United States) on 18 December 2010 in Transportation and Portfolio.

A northbound Amtrak rail train rolling through the rainy darkness toward Sacramento, California.

[Note]: There is no substance on earth heavier than supersaturated California mud. Not Zinc. Not Lead. Not Wagner's Ring Cycle. Nothing. Another quality of our mud is that it sticks very well to feet, shoes, or boots.

Wonderfully done, the exact speed to create this ghostly image of the train. Fantastic.

Well worth getting mud on the boots for this ! That train really feels like it is carrying a story with it . .

THAT is just marvelous!!!

Now as for the rain, I'm getting flippin' tired of it!

@Formerly Known as MontereyJohn: Oh, relax John. While you've been back dancing in those marvelous thunderstorms of the east and south - those of us you left behind have been sitting here under endless blue skies or submerged in dense windy fog. Allow us a few weeks to absorb these wonderful rains. Remember - this will all lead to the lush green hills and filtered light of the best photography topography on earth! (...and again, welcome back home)

Oh yeah, it is gloriously dirty, the light trail is fantastic though.
