What an amazing picture when first viewed. Not a scene you normally see when seeing
the lights of San Francisco. Amazing powerful palms frame the bridge so beautifully. An
extraordinary capture so well photographed.

Longroute from Cagliari, Italy

Quite an unusual view of SF and an unusual hour and light. I can't understand if it's early morning or late evening. A fine and well arranged composition with a very good and peculiar atmosphere.

Best regards,

@Longroute: Thank you, Donato - it was about 10 PM. I had been driving back to San Francisco from the East Bay across the Bay Bridge. This spot is on Treasure Island which is accessible off the middle of the bridge. It was a beautiful evening and I decided to drive down and check-out the photo possibilities. This was the result.

So many good things going on here, the palms out front, the massive light trail, and for me the best feature is the city skyline on the horizon. The light and the sharpness back there is out of this world.

Probably the best photo I have seen in a long time. Brilliant.

@hugo poon: Thanks, Hugo - this is a favorite. May your weekend be both restorative and special for you.

Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United Kingdom

The cast of unreality in this has a certain allure . . curiously addictive.

28 Nov 2010 4:18pm

@Ronnie 2¢: Ah, yes - taking camera and tripod into the night is always a special thrill for me. All the predictability of the daytime is gone and if you add passing traffic - captures become downright exciting.

Laurent from not far from Lyon, France

just great night shot. An uncommon point of view with the palm trees and traffic light foreground
