Ramp Demolition III

Posted by
Stephen Phillips (San Francisco, United States) on 13 September 2010 in Documentary & Street and Portfolio.

Beale Street in San Francisco

It is now early afternoon. The sun has emerged and the pace of the work has increased. The job must be completed over the weekend in order to avoid a massive traffic jam in the area come Monday.

At right is the new temporary terminal that will operate here until 2017 when the new Transit Center is scheduled to open.

@Formerly Known as MontereyJohn: Indeed they will John.It looks like they're getting close to being ready to knock down the north overpass on Beale pretty soon. That has Muni overhead lines running under it so we'll see what happens. What is your estimated return date to The Bay Area? It would be good to know in terms of asking around about gigs.

Laurent from Lyon, France

very impressive.
In Lyon they also demolish a ramp but it do not take two days but more two years.
So I let you imagine the perpetual traffic jam. You should ask some of them to come over here to solve our problem...
