There was something about the first in the series that I liked and reminded me of something but I couldn't put my finger on it...
This one I like even more, it's a superb capture...and then it came to me. It's the unique lighting and the way the group is transfixed, so evocative!

I share Ted's thoughts on this series - there is a very special feel to each shot.

cool shot Stephen.....who's the guy on the field, over one the left????

30 Aug 2010 9:59pm

@Susan: Hi there and thanks, Susan. San Francisco is such a compact park that they had to design everything with an economy of space in mind. That is why it is such a charming park - the seats are right up against the action with very little foul teritory. You can see the right foul line under that railing at left.

That fellow is standing alongside the visitor's bullpen. It looks as though no one was warming up for Cincinnati just then (though that was about to change very quickly). That man is wearing the Giants colors (orange and black) so I feel safe in saying he's with security.

great shot, love the view through the people

I think my heart is out in the street just to the right. If it wouldn't be too much trouble, could you pick it up and mail it to me? Thanks.

God, I want THAT lens!

It is cool that they have a free viewing area. Just pop in on a walk and watch for an inning, then continue on your merry way. :)

I love this color picture especially looking out into the field and seeing all the
bleachers full of fans. The light is great on the fans seeming to mesmerize
all the ones without babies. I think it is that light that emanates from the ball
field that makes this photo so much in the ball park. A home run with this pic.

This is very cinematic. The leading lines of the shadows draw us into the photo. We want to see what they are looking at.
