Allthough these lines don't form any typical photographic composiion I still enjoy this shot a lot. That's mainly due to the fabulous light...

Tamara from Aarschot, Belgium

I like the way you've played with lines and perspectives here ! Also the slow shutter speed adds a nice "milky" effect to the water. Very well done Stephen ! Have a great sunday :)

Marie LC from France

Becky from los angeles, United States

This is a fabulous shot! SO peaceful - like there is no city anywhere to be found.

1 Aug 2010 6:03pm

@Becky: There is a mile long (1.4 km) stretch of trail out west of The Golden Gate Bridge and west of Sea Cliff - where you can stand and not see any sign of urban civilization - save for a lighthouse on the far shore - and you are still within the city limits of San Francisco!

Alun from cheshire, United Kingdom

A great view of this classic bridge, well done

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

What on earth is a warming hut for?
Good view of the bridge and the shutter is speed is just slow enough to give a sense of motion to those gentle waves.

1 Aug 2010 6:46pm

@Curly: This once served as a warehouse back when the Army operated an air field here. Now it is a welcome site on the many days that 'The Gate' serves up its cold, wet, windy, weather. Here is coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and hot food. It is an odd name but there you have it - a place to get warm.

Phil David Alexander Morris from Saskatoon, Canada

Beautiful soft colors and the silky softness of the waves on shore, this also
gives the illusion that the bridge has disappeared into the hills. A beautiful
image of your home town.

geez, the water looks beautiful and silky smooth. and if that pinkish tinge of the sky behind can be stronger, the photo will be even more dramatic ;) but i love it nonetheless!
