North Portland Peninsula Rose Garden / Corner View

Posted by
Stephen Phillips (San Francisco, United States) on 16 June 2010 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

Portland, Oregon.

Having seen a closer view of the large center fountain - this angle gives perspective to how large this garden is (that fountain is behind those trees near center) Part of the beautiful timber beamed gazebo can be seen at the far right. The park continues to the north (my right) with trees. lawn, pathways, two baseball fields, tennis courts, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool.

A magnificent urban asset - hidden well away from central Portland.

I prefer generally a little bit muddled, alive and kicking gardens, where hedges are not congealed but this one, with the rose garden, is very beautiful all the same

the photography is spot on, as is the gardening skills of the people who put this sight together.

No wonder they are called "Ducks" up there. Does the sun EVER shine? :)

Beautiful spot and nice image though.
