Rolling North

Posted by
Stephen Phillips (San Francisco, United States) on 2 June 2010 in Transportation and Portfolio.

The posts today and tomorrow provide a continuation of Saturday's post:

A Union Pacific freight train rolling through Pinole, California. This train is made up almost entirely of tanker cars. It was starting from a dead stop just before this crossing. Here it is really picking up speed and you can still see the diesel exhaust rising from the train's yellow engines just up ahead as they work hard to build speed.

I love the crossing lights,so different from anything here. The feeling of building speed comes over nicely as well..

Nice job composing this one Stephen, interesting foreground train signals with a perfect angle pointing towards the moving train. The foreground anchor just seems to pull you into this fascinating scene.
