@Curly: Hey Curly - thanks - and forgive my delay getting back to you - we just went through a holiday weekend and I was busy with out-of-town guests. On this image:

Just before I arrived here - the nearby signal went red and the train stopped about 2000 feet before the crossing gates. I got out and set the tripod with time to calculate what I wanted to attempt. The signal went green - the whistle blew - the gates closed and he came by me at no more than 25 mph.

Canon 5D - MkII - w/ Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 L II lens: ISO 50 - at 26mm - f/11 - 1/2 second
