That's quite a history, still cannot understand why she is left rotting there though. You would think an effort would be made to clean up the river.

@Curly: Hi Curly - from what I understand - funds were amassed for her renovation and she was being hoisted at this very spot when the rigging collapsed. The damage was significant and bankrupt the project. Gold Beach is a small and isolated town with a population of under 2000. Tourism is the primary economic resource here. After the collapse of the logging industry in the region - there wasn't much chance of raising money a second time.
