Squall Above Pomponio Creek Beach

Posted by
Stephen Phillips (San Francisco, United States) on 18 March 2010 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

The foreground reveals ice plants - a succulent common along the California coast - in bloom. Just beyond those trees in the distance is the beach at Pomponio Creek.

Two weeks of images - all shot on the same day - and bringing us back to just above the beach where it all started. And the rain squalls just kept on coming.

Your journeys inspire us to pursue our own, but to do so would intrude on what makes you so...Stephen. best...jerry

@ordinaryimages: Forgive my disagreement, Jerry - but to the contrary - the more the merrier! There is more than enough abundance of beauty in nature for us all to share - and celebrate. You have delivered ample evidence of this right here. Besides, the hills of Kentucky are about to erupt into - SPRING! So, here's my suggestion: shake off the dirty gray slush and shine - mister. Joyous light...

I wonder why they are called ice plants. They do add a lot to this photo.

The reds and purples in the foreground are delicious against the green and stormy backdrops.
