Designer Erik

Posted by
Stephen Phillips (San Francisco, United States) on 16 March 2010 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio.

A little break in our coastal tour -

- to give this Tuesday - a big lift.

That's my business partner and good friend, Erik Reinecke up on the lift. He is a creative graphic sign designer and fabricator in San Francisco. My humble office sits inside his shop. This image was his idea.

Last year - he had just finished installing the metal sign above the door to this high-end retailer at Embarcadero Center. He thought it would be cool to join the community of headless witnesses to the installation.

He struck the pose. I took the capture into Photoshop. And here is the result.

I do not recommend beheading your friends as therapy. Looking at this image still gives me the creeps.

Good contrast but ,"who´s Erik" ?? Or is that a silly question !!!

16 Mar 2010 11:40am

@Anthony Morgan Lambert: Confession time. I had misplaced this image file and couldn't find it - even using every 'search' trick I know. I discovered it late last night and almost sent it to Erik as an email before deciding to post it here today. I needed to get home and barely had time to get it into AM3 in time for the Tuesday post.

This morning - I expanded the description to explain - 'who's Erik?' So if you don't mind heading back...

Ah, OK. Hmmm, where is Kat Love?

16 Mar 2010 12:01pm

@Ralph Jones: Well - OK - good question. And, good news - she'll be back soon. Literally. She's is returning from Greece in April and we're negotiating a location to do a shoot. She'll have very little time and it won't include a Sunday - unfortunately - this eliminates a continuation onto 'The Streets of San Francisco'. (darn) However - I am certain we'll think of something clever.
