The beach along the Pacific Ocean in San Francisco - on a stormy Saturday morning.

[tomorrow]: concludes this series with a photograph that should touch the heart of every AM3'er. Taken just a few meters back from where today's image was captured and to my right...

Not many hardy soles out on this day, the lines and planes work well. I'll not spoil tomorrow with a prediction. best...jerry

@ordinaryimages: Knowing the lay-of-the-land as you do - I am certain your prediction is correct. Thanks to the wet surfaces - I managed a pretty cool capture of the subject - and a link to its website that is predictably 'low-budget' funky.

the lines and curves beautifully lead the eye wandering in the image

Really love how you have composed this image - it's framed beautifully, there's tons of interest, and the eye is drawn to that focal point automatically. I would have adjusted it slightly, though, just to get the horizon level.

David from Detroit, United States

I love the way you used the wide angle lens on this. It enhances the perspective, and give such a sense of vertigo (hmmm... a great San Francisco movie) in the chasm below the greenery.

John Maslowski from Dallas, PA, United States

Definitely a spectacular view Stephen. Quite a different ocean shore line and rock formations compared to the Atlantic shore here. The scale and depth are amazing. Beautiful image.

18 Feb 2010 2:21am

@John Maslowski: Thanks, John - always a treat to hear from you. I love the dissimilarities of our two coasts and miss The Atlantic because it is infinitely more swimmable. I hope to be back there this late summer - September is my target. I plan to repeat my year 2000 drive from Atlantic City to Cape May - the ferry - and Dover down to Ocean City, Maryland. Rickett's Glen will figure into the romp as well!

Scott F. Schilling from San Martin, United States

The depth in this is awesome with the lines that take my eye way into the frame! Almost like a railroad track except you used the surf and the beach to do it! The sky has a great amount of detail also! Have a great rest of the week Stephen!
