@Evelyne Dubos: Thank you very much for the visit, Evelyne. I have become a student of waves along the shore and managed to take this wearing running shoes that - aside from some wet sand on the bottoms - stayed completely dry! I had the tripod and camera ready and as soon as the wave receded - I ran and planted the legs and captured the shot.

great catch of that breaking wave!!!! update on 40d......if it looks too good to be true, it is.......the 40d, for $289 was on "permanent backorder".....picked up a refurbished 40d last night......bit more $$, but I think it will be fun to have!!!!
