And I'm excited...

...this area is about to become my new home !

My new place is just four short blocks to the right of here. Please pardon the recent lapses in my participation on AM3. I haven't moved in more than twenty-five years and there is much to sort through. And I'm busy with work as well. Please know I am grateful for all that I have and will check-in when I can. Happy holidays, all!

Great light and tones, I like very much the calm atmosphere.
I will be travelling these days: have a happy Christmas and Newe Year, my friend.

@Paco Díaz: Travel well and safely, Francisco - have a splendid holiday season - see you next year!

yz from Budapest, Hungary

not a bad place to live :)
love your early morning shots (if i am not mistaken guessing this is an early shot)

@yz: Greetings - always a pleasure to hear from you, yz. The Bay Area can be confusing as there is water in many places. This is an estuary in the East Bay - so I'm facing west (more-or-less) and so this is a sunset. A jolly holiday season to you!

Yonatan from Bronx, United States

Living close to this area sure will set you up nicely for dynamically lit shots along the water. Happy holidays and good luck with the move!

i know this place well..nice catch !

23 Dec 2009 2:32pm

@alex centrella: JLS has changed a bunch in the last few years. The glass enclosed train station used to be a stand-out landmark and has nearly disappeared into all of the new construction that surrounds it - including my complex. They tore down the old wooden Jack London complex (I was sorry to see that) - and new buildings now fill that area as well. The core of the produce section still exists - one block in each direction from the historic Merchant Bar - but you have the sense the days are numbered.

Gorgeous light here Stephen.....looks like a great area to be moving to.....and although Curly thinks it's leaning to the right, I kind of like the whole perspective here!!!

Moving is up there as one of the most stressful things in life, especially if your like me and you've collected a lot of stuff. Beautiful shot Stephen, definitely appears to be a great place to live. I'm sure the move will be worth it. Hope you are able to enjoy the upcoming holidays. Take care.
