ok, help me out here.... am i blind? I see the golden gate, but don't see the bay bridge.....where is it???

16 Dec 2009 12:10am

@Susan: The bridge on the left is the Bay Bridge connecting the East Bay (Oakland, Emeryville, Berkeley) with downtown San Francisco. The Golden Gate Bridge is viewable in the far distance at right. The south tower appears above the amidships of the departing container ship, the north tower is somewhat obscured in mist between the bow of the ship and the right edge of the image. (The Golden Gate is a single suspension span - only two towers) So, there you are...

Scott F. Schilling from San Martin, United States

Stephen, I think this may be one of my favorites! This has incredible light and details and the City glows, the ship in the bay, and on the right hand side a touch of the Golden Gate - Awesome work on this and a great sky!

16 Dec 2009 3:17am

@Scott F. Schilling: Thank you , Scott - I appreciate it. This was taken this past Sunday - it was cold and breezy and had become completely overcast and I almost left. But one of my favorite NPR shows was on (Says You) and I decided to just sit there and listen and see what might happen...

Susan from Fort Lauderdale, FL, United States

thanks for the correction..... don't think i've ever seen the bridges from this side....... and should have known that the gate would have appeared orange/red.......happy day to ya!!
