Georgeous light for this fine view, Stephen. I like the simplicity in the composition here...

Chris from South Jersey, United States

wonderful subdued looks a bit grainy at the bottom though (could be my monitor)?

3 Nov 2009 12:04pm

@Chris: Good eye, Chris - it is not your monitor. I am traveling this week and rushed getting this series up. I almost deleted this one but kind of enjoyed the 'Monet' effect. So, here it is - warts and all. We'll be back to standards - tomorrow.

Elena Kotrotsou from Drossia, Greece

willow from Chelsea, United States

Such a lovely scene - really strange to think of that graffiti covered bridge overlooks this raw and natural looking place.

4 Nov 2009 4:36am

@willow: It gets odder - still, willow - as one observes the vegetation along the stream giving way to miles of almond, walnut, and olive orchards - interspersed with fields yielding hay and tomatoes; even a few grape vineyards patch the landscape.

jpdm from Pignans, France

very nice compo, the pic looks like ripped up in the middle with the river...what was the sensibility for that pic ?

@jpdm: Thank you for the visit. I am always happy to provide EXIF data:

Canon 5D w/ Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 L lens: ISO 320 - at 16mm - f/7.1 - 1/200th second - processing in Adobe Lightroom.

dj.tigersprout from New York City, United States

do i see a lot of grain here? or is it just my computer? i am not complaining at all -- just trying to reckon with what my eyes are seeing... ;) i love that wispy sky and the long narrow refraction of light off the water! very moody!

6 Nov 2009 4:30pm

@dj.tigersprout: Not your monitor, Jaycee - lots of noise in the image. I offer no explanation other than I was rushed - considered deleting it and made the decision not to. And so it goes...
