This image make me curious... What could be there to the right... Amazing concept. So simple and yet powerful.

@Mirko Herzner: Hey Mirko - greetings. This image was captured on the Hopland Grade - California State Highway 175 - between the small town of Hopland and Clear Lake - the largest lake completely within California. It is a very steep, narrow, winding road through rugged coastal mountains. Today's image comes from a very tight horseshoe turn near the western end of the mountainous section. To the right is an equally beautiful panorama looking north up the valley floor. Here is a Google Map of where I stood:

A note of possible interest - the south side of Clear Lake was where I took those Fourth-of-July fireworks images this year - with the pyrotechnics over the water.

The intrusion of this sign in the middle of Nature, with that direction imposed, that is our world and i love this and the fab tones of the season you caught again*

@k@: Thanks, Karine. Man's intrusions into nature. And there are all these wine grapes to consider. Still, having driven this steep, winding road at night - I'll confess to taking some comfort in these particular intrusions. Cheers!

Am enjoying this series. A whole different look than in July.

This would have been far more dynamic with the sign placed further to the left, I think.

@Curly: I appreciate your criticism, Curly - and can only respond that clearly you don't share my passion for roadsigns - they are laced throughout my portfolio. Still - you're probably right...

Just lovely that countryside, and the Autumn tones are pleasing too.

This is a nice capture showing man colliding with nature in the fall. I appreciate your subtle inclusion of the road and guardrail.
