Jesse in Coleman Valley - Sonoma County - California (2009)

So - now to begin the second year here at 'A Minus 3' as I started the first - with our friend Jesse. We had our reunion shoot on Friday - and had a blast. The wind and chill blew us off our charted course towards the coast - but we managed to find some good image spots - a few of our efforts to follow...

Bill Jennings from Bay Area Northern Calif, United States

Is it possible that she grew younger in the last year - she has an innocence here I didn't see before? Well framed and photographed - excellent work. Great anniversary start for a second year!

@Bill Jennings: Thanks, Bill - Jesse can project such a terrific range of emotions - hopefully I'll have some images up that will show this over the next several days...

Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, Spain

The best possible begging for the second year.
I agree absolutelly with Bill Jennings. Great portrait of Jesse among the flowers, crowned with roses to celebrate the Spring. I'm happy to see her.

She is a beautiful woman, no matter how many clothes she is wearing (or not). Adorned in flowers and the colors of Spring, Jesse looks as if she belongs in Rivendell or some other magical elvish place.

Stephen, how much I admire your talent and ability to portray beautiful angels in such a natural and emotive manner... there's a wonderful blend of photographer and his subject - connecting at a spiritual level! See you tomorrow!:-)

beautiful portrait, stephen; i love her pose, and the softness of her features is just perfect (i tend to oversharpen my portraits). excellent!

12 May 2009 4:55pm

@paulski: Scott Kelby's books on everything Photoshop™ are widely available. His advice on 'sharpening' (or not) is quite useful.
