Chris from South Jersey, United States

"born to be wild" - great wheels.....
really great lighting in this - it works extremely well in b&w....

25 Mar 2009 1:16pm

@Chris: I'm not sure about the 'born to be wild' factor - though the hot pink metallic paint seemed a big draw here.

dogilicious from Millerstown, PA, United States

Great title! Really sharp b/w.

25 Mar 2009 2:45pm

@dogilicious: Hey - "Have Tripod - Will Travel" - and very high marks to Rebecka as this was a six second exposure!

yz from Budapest, Hungary

funny title and capture :)

25 Mar 2009 2:52pm

Anthony Lambert from Bielefeld, Germany

What a cool Merry go round !! and a good portrait as well !!

25 Mar 2009 3:12pm

@Anthony Lambert: Hey Anthony, thanks. This whole little park is cool - built along the banks of the Willamette River. The park has suffered numerous floods and a couple of fires yet has managed to hang on where most of the old parks have fallen. I love that you can walk around all of the park in the winter at night. A photographer friendly place to be sure.

grant from kansas city, United States

fun shot - i'm betting this race will end in a tie...

25 Mar 2009 3:34pm

@grant: Rebecka in first - I can plainly see that all of the others trail her mean machine. (that's what an uncle's for)

Pavan Kaul from Mumbai, India

What a lovely picture! I love the low contrast high key tone! wonderful treatment!

25 Mar 2009 4:03pm

paulski from Muncie, IN, United States

love the shot and the pose; might like to see it with a bit more contrast, tho'...

25 Mar 2009 4:26pm

@paulski: There is a lesson in this. I processed this image on my laptop while up there. I can see that my calibrated studio monitor makes a difference and I should have checked. I agree with your assessment. Thanks.

peter from new york, United States

haha i love the title and great shot! are those harleys she's riding??

25 Mar 2009 4:58pm

@peter: Of course! Can't you hear that deep satisfying rumble?

Steve Rice from Olympia, United States

Cool! She looks kind of tough. :-)

25 Mar 2009 5:32pm

@Steve Rice: Yeah, that's Becka - one tough cookie. Who loves Ella Fitzgerald and wants to work with marine animals.

Niña from New York, United States

nice shot! makes me want to be a bicker chick myself!

25 Mar 2009 5:51pm

@Niña: Hey there Niña - I'll tell Rebecka she has a challenger!

Susan from Fort Lauderdale, FL, United States

Rebecka looks like a fun person.... great black and white.... love her attitude.... looks like a merry-go-round with toy bikes on it..... Is it????

25 Mar 2009 7:17pm

25 Mar 2009 8:06pm

@DenisSm: The 'protective' uncle in me is raising my eyebrow. I've seen what you do with that camera!

willow from United States

There is so much going on in this image - so many patterns - really keeps the eye busy.

25 Mar 2009 8:37pm

DenisSm from Prague, Czech Republic

25 Mar 2009 8:51pm

25 Mar 2009 9:49pm

Scott Schilling from San Martin, United States

Stephen, a great shot - I love this in Black and White and the title is awesome - those little bikes are great! How come you always get to go shooting with girls? I am going to have to step it up or figure something out!

25 Mar 2009 10:25pm

@Scott Schilling: Ummm. I don't know, Scott - somehow shooting an amusement park with my niece doesn't strike me as a major coup. Although - she's a darn fine photographer and we have a good time on these excursions.

John Maslowski from Dallas, PA, United States

Fantastic shot Stephen, like the title. Great picture of this lovely young lady and interesting place.

26 Mar 2009 12:46am

@John Maslowski: hey there John - thanks. All of southeast Portland has interesting neighborhoods with lots of shooting possibilities - including Oaks Park. I look forward to getting back there soon.
