Flows of Red Hair and Stream...

Model Lacey Field - February 2009
Mount Tamalpais - California

Some of you suggested my post yesterday was a departure for me. It isn't actually. I have been shooting fine art nudes for many years. I do it to relax. It also gets me out from my computer chair getting some much needed exercise.

Personally, I just noted that very little nudity was on our AM3 pages and I respect this. I enjoy the number of youngsters posting here - or kids posting work with their families and think it great this be a 'family friendly' blog. This especially for those in societies where nudity might be upsetting.

For those that wish to see more of my nudes work with Lacey and others:

Stephen a wonderful composition withe s curve of the river through the photo and the rocks and Lacey - she has very long hair - nice work!! What location was this photograph taken?

26 Feb 2009 5:18am

@Scott Schilling: Thanks, Scott.

You can Google this. It is inside the City Limits of Mill Valley. If you follow the downtown thoroughfare of Throckmorton to the west a couple of miles beyond the village - you come to a hairpin curve at Cascade Park. A very short walk to the falls. Warning - I was surprised on a rainy Monday to discover lots of pedestrian traffic including a lucky guy with a point-n-shoot who got some 'unauthorized' images of the fair Lacey.

Mike from Lichfield, United Kingdom

I do like AM3 for it's nice family friendly community. Good photo Stephen.

Excellent, Stephen. Nudism in lovely nature is always a delight.

yz from Budapest, Hungary

so you've followed the frightened forest fairy into the woods
very nice composition

26 Feb 2009 7:16am

@yz: Well - in the interest of truth and full disclosure - this image was taken first. Several folks happened by during our time by the falls, including a guy with a point and shoot camera who collected a couple of shots on his own. None of this phased Lacey a bit. It would seem the 'forest fairy' is frightened by small pick-up trucks zooming along mountain roads. ...and thanks, yz.

Stunning...ethereal..other-wordly..romantic. I - personally - enjoy your fine art nudes..altho I do understand why they are difficult to post.

Rui from Leiria, Portugal

So elegant! Magnificent composition. Natural beauty in natural environment.
I totally agree with you concerning posting here nude pics. Personally I prefer this kind of photo (as I told yesterday) in the way it challenges the mind to discover all the details. Showing just some parts of the model defies the senses. I don't mean I don't like to see Fine Nude Art Photos, but there are other places more adequate to post them, where the person can choose to see them or either not, like your (let me say - excellent) web page.

26 Feb 2009 5:36pm

@Rui: Thank you for the thoughtful comments as well as your kindness concerning my website.

Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, France

I see the first shot of your blog about nudes and you know what Stephen, Lacey makes me think to the wellknown painting of Botticelli "the birth of Venus"...
nice shot, well composed.

26 Feb 2009 5:41pm

@Evelyne Dubos: Thanks so very much Evelyne. As to 'Birth of Venus' - they both have very similar long red hair, even to the length. I'll share your thoughts with Lacey.

Magda from Canada

I like the choice of B&W here. Your model "melts" into the background! Nice work.

Great composition. almost like a "Peeping Tom."

Susan from Fort Lauderdale, FL, United States

this is almost like those things you have to really stare at, to get it!!! the way lacey just kind of blends in with the whole shot, it's really a powerful shot......and think i'd already mentioned...your other site has a group of phenomenal shots!!! Spencer Tunick, watch out!!

27 Feb 2009 1:35am

@Susan: Thanks again, Susan. What Spencer does is truly phenomenal - the one thing he can expect from me is appreciation. How did you learn of Tunick's work?

Yonatan from Bronx, United States

I like the composition quite a bit. Interesting perspective locked in with the tree trunk in the foreground. I also took a look at your pbase pictures and I'm very impressed!

grant from kansas city, United States

great angle - unusual for a nude photo. i like it. and, i think my kids might actually visit if there were more nudes. my photos certainly aren't enough :-)

27 Feb 2009 4:09am

@grant: It sounds as though they're at 'that age'. Well Grant, at least they won't be bored. If there is one thing that is easy to find these days - it is naked bodies. We come to start appreciating the subtle things after we begin to slow down. This seems a universal theme.

Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Wonderful nudes in your site, and here I like very much the way of Lacey poses. The curves of the water are in harmony with the curves of her wonderful hair, here and there.

Twelvebit from Victoria, United States

Old as I am, I still don't think I'm old enough to photograph beautiful women in the nude and find it relaxing.

27 Feb 2009 9:02pm

@Twelvebit: I suggest there is a time and place for everything. There are a dozen women who work with me from time to time - and in every instance we have a blast!
