What an excellent view point. I bet that view of the hill looks amazing at night when it's all lit up. Great photo!

@Mike: The view of and the view from - both are pretty cool...

Scott Schilling from San Martin, United States

Stephen - another fantastic composition - this has so many layers I could stare at it for an hour - I also like how the street takes my eyes to the hill beyond just covered with a thousand homes! Great Work! I love it.

i guess this twin peaks is not 'that' twin peaks :)

30 Jan 2009 9:37am

@yz: These have been around a lot longer and are real. Twin Peak are the highest (geographic) point in San Francisco. At 281 m (922 feet) - they afford a marvelous view of our fair town. You might enjoy this:

I-want-to-visit-your-beautiful-city!!! This is a wonderful streetscape and rooftopscape (new word?).

30 Jan 2009 2:02pm

@Viewfinder: A new word, indeed - and this was actually taken from a pedestrian overpass at the Convention Center. This is a great 'people watching' position. I'll also note this was taken 'hand held' with the image stabilized Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. Pretty amazing.

Splendid shot... after following the road; with all its interesting points down to the church, we then see that huge rise of urbanization !

Being from the almost completely flat midwest, this is so hard to fathom - actual variation in altitude? Weird!

This series is such a winner. Best SF images I have ever seen. What a great perspective you've got here. Those hills come in handy.

On perusing your images one thing that stands out is the interesting viewpoints/perspectives you've found for our city. This one for instance jumps out at me--I work right near here but have never 'seen' that street that way. Familiar landmarks from a unique perspective--great work!

@Kurt: Again, Kurt - thanks. I hope by the time you read this you're safely back on this side of the hill.
