Good perspective. Compo is perfect with Golden Gate in distant

@Marie LC: Thanks Marie. One thing - this silver span is the Bay Bridge which connects San Francisco to Oakland, Berkeley, and points east. The Golden Gate is deep red and about 5 km (3 miles) north and west of here. FYI.
This is gorgeous! Again, so quiet... I guess it pays off to be up early and ready to go with the camera at the first sign of dawn. Beautiful image! Bravo.

@hugo poon: Thanks - and you too, Hugo - a good yesterday morning from San Francisco...
very beautiful... I had a job offer in SF that I turned down a few months ago.. I hope I end up not regretting it too much looking at your photoblog lol...

@greg: Ah - those life altering doorways we arrive at - that change forever our destiny. My advice - never second guess these things - and always trust your heart. You could have said yes and gotten into a terrible wreck on your first day of work and... Well, you get the idea. Accept where you are and all of the whys of what has you where you are - and be in your life.
Great composition Stephen I really like the wood decking and how the lines lead my eyes to the sunrise great sky also!

A very lovely image. I like having that person in the frame.

Wow, Stephen, you know my weakness for piers and sunrise/sunsets. This one is absolutely stunning and beautiful. Perfect in every respect. I assume that's the bay bridge not Golden Gate, regardless it truly a gorgeous picture.
24 Jan 2009 10:29pm
@John Maslowski: Bay Bridge is correct. The Golden Gate is a single suspension span - not as long as the Bay Bridge - but it was the longest single suspension span for nearly four decades, until construction of The Verrazano-Narrows Bridge connecting Brooklyn and Staten Island in the seventies.
So tranquil, so inviting. I like how the lines of the deck boards lead the eye further in to the image. What a beautiful place to be at sunrise!

Very nice one !

This reminds me of this past week. I went to Disney for a meeting in Orlando. We went to Epcot one night and rode the ride "Soaring". It takes you up in an interactive big screen adventure like you are flying over mountains and rivers. It began in the clouds and opened up over the Golden Gate bridge and absolutely took my breath away. What a great ride! And what a great photo you have taken.

@Walter: So, Walter - here I sit in my living room - in a comfortable chair - reading plain text on a flat screen - and just reading your description of this ride has my knees weak and vertigo surging through my being. That said - I do appreciate the compliment.
very nice picture, i like it
