Leaving on that dead end street - again

Posted by
Stephen Phillips (San Francisco, United States) on 9 November 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Last month, several people asked what was over that hill with this 'dead end' sign. The mystery was no doubt more interesting than the reality - but here is the answer.

Time to exit Loleta. It was late in the morning on this Saturday and I needed to get back to San Francisco. Compass south. We're heading home.

Another nice, well photographed shot, but when will we see some sunshine..I'm starved of rays Peter. ;>))

@Jeff: Everything I've been posting for over a month was all taken on the same morning (Oct 4th) - and it was rainy. Sorry. The next several images will be from my trip heading home (on the same day) - there will be some more rain but as I get further south, we end in bright sunshine! Cheers, Peter.

Love the way you've captured the curve in the road...leading you somewhere..but not sure really where??? Nice one!

@Marcie: Like the sign says. No Through Street. There is a back fence to a home behind that garage and that's it. Turn around or go out to pasture.

hehe -- there seem to be a good number of these 'dead end' signs up north! ;) i agree w/ Grant -- the light here is extremely beautiful!

A slide took out the road, and the town's water system. The same bad winter weather and a slide also closed the Railroad in this area... forever.
