Downtown Reflection

Posted by Stephen Phillips (San Francisco, United States) on 4 November 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

We are back in town. We're in the parking lot along the tracks. The scatter of stores are out-of-view to our left. The familiar old brick dairy is straight ahead. The white tank in front of the dark wood building is the cheese factory. The white buildings to right of the tank - just ahead - is the lumber yard. And at right is just another unique house overlooking it all.

Cool pano of the town. I suppose most of the folks worked within the town..? not too far to travel.

@Observing: Well, Mike - not many jobs here. The dairy at the center of town moved to new facilities in 1993. But that plant is about 9 km east of here. There's a coastal city of 29,000 about 20 km to the north.

Great perspective. The lone light pole in the reflection fits the scene perfectly.

the puddle in the foreground and those strangely eloquent electrical wires make this shot for me -- beautiful, healthy solitude here!
