Parking Free

Posted by
Stephen Phillips (San Francisco, United States) on 3 August 2008 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio.

Not a single car - is what allowed this repetitive pattern capture on the sixth floor of
The Mission Street Garage in San Francisco. The next level is the roof - which is where that lone shaft of sunlight in the distance is coming from.

Love the patterns and the light and shadow. So rare to see an empty parking garage.

@Marcie: It was certainly a surprise to see this large garage in empty mode. It is adjacent to our massive convention center, across the street from two separate zillion screen cineplexes, a half block from the newest, largest, and most elegant urban shopping center in San Francisco, and three blocks from Union Square. I was happy for the opportunity to capture this pattern shot.

Great lines and light, the row of parking spaces looks like it goes on forever!

A wonderful perspective and pleasing subdued colors make the image attractive, Stephen. That shaft of light in the distance adds focus. Excellent image.
