Another view from 55 Second Street - this time looking towards Nob Hill. The Mark Hopkins Hotel can be seen at the top of the hill - its familiar American flag - lifted by the breeze.

@dj.tigersprout: Thanks for the exclamations, Jaycee - and no, not my office. I'm in a small sidewalk level office near the anchorage of the Bay Bridge. I hope to have a nicer spot in the near future but I'd never want to be in an office tower. Something on the water would have me smiling...

@yz: yeah - that redwood deck is completely inviting. Unfortunately - that's an office building. My guess is we're seeing a lovely lunch and conference spot - nothing more.

So many buildings to look at and you have managed to preserve the verticals (possibly some work in PS for converging verticals). love the treatment you have given to it, the reflections are very good and it is topped off by the shear sense of scale

This photo is just exquisite...the composition and the detail are almost beyond belief!!! Where were you when you shot this, and did you have to shoot it thru a glass window???? It's just got so many "layers" to it.....different shapes, sizes, and it all works perfectly!!!!

@Susan: Thanks Susan - I was on assignment and had access to several floors at 55 Second Street. The floors are vacant as part of the economic downturn and so the overhead lights were off. There was still some minor reflection in the lower frame which I cleaned up in Photoshop.

The light almost gives the image a feeling of unrealness (I doubt that's a word, but it was the best I could come up with). I really like all the different reflections in the different buildings' windows - funny how just a little change in angle can make such a major difference.
