A rainy day over the lands of Carquinez Regional Park - California
This is a short series taken on the day of yesterday's sunset image. This was my first capture of the day in the lands to the south and east of the small town of Crockett. Tomorrow - off to Crockett.

@Scott Schilling: Amen - Scott - this is a time in California that lifts the heart of all photographers. The light and the ever changing show of nature has me wanting to be outdoors at every moment. I find it hard to sit at my desk.

@Steve Rice: Well - for now - the drought word is far from going away. We had virtually no rain in December or January - out two wettest months - and this coming off of two drought years. The hills were still brown two weeks ago. I guess that's what had me take the image - it is great to see. The best news is that more storms are forecast into the next two weeks.

@Lee: Three weeks after the final spring rain these hills are brown - and in another couple of weeks they are the color of white gold. They remain this color until the late fall when the winter rains return.

@dogilicious: I have no idea what a 'normal' shot for me might be. People ask me what kind of photography I do. My stock response is generally, "I shoot anything but weddings." And I'd shoot one of those if it was unusual or quirky.
Basically I am drawn to shoot what resonates somehow. We are in the middle of a three year drought and the pools of light rolling of this soaked landscape looked exceptionally good.

Wow, what beautiful rolling hills, and everything looks so green and lush.... You got a great catch here...... And I can tell you for sure, there's nothing that looks like that down here in flat South Florida!!!

Perfect - The composition is just perfect! I like the rolling hills and the diagonal line of the fence and the clouds and.... I guess I just like the whole thing! Can't wait to see Crockett!

@Evelyne Dubos: Merci beaucoup Evelyne. Il a été de pluie que j'ai conduit le long de cette crête. Tout à coup - le soleil est apparu - et les bassins de la lumière commencé à se déplacer sur ces collines, dans ma direction. Il est tout à fait charmant. (Je me demande comment Google va faire de cette pensée)
