LeenaM from Joensuu, FinlandA view, what we can not find from Finland, but I have seen it in the countries of Mediterranean. 6 Jan 2009 5:43am @LeenaM: Thanks, Leena - it good to hear from you. Paco Díaz from SpainDelicious morning photo, I like the perspective, the lights, the panoramic of houses and the runner putting movement in the image. Very good. 6 Jan 2009 7:45am @Paco Díaz: Thanks, Paco - it sounds as though it might be time for a visit! dobbino from Cape Town, South AfricaThis has come out really well - beautiful image. 6 Jan 2009 7:46am grant from kansas city, United Stateswonderful, peaceful view (although, whenever i see those hills, i think of dirty harry driving them like a bat out of hell.) 6 Jan 2009 2:16pm @grant: What are you trying to do, Grant, "Make my day?" Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaI love it, love it, that's one thing I remember very well and SF, going up the hills, oh I loved it lol 6 Jan 2009 3:10pm @Lorraine: I could never understand why anyone here would buy a 'Stairmaster™' - yet they do. Alphons from Kaatsheuvel, NetherlandsWonderful panorama with a fine composition and perspective. 6 Jan 2009 3:25pm hugo poon from hong kong, Hong KongThat's fantastic "joy of light"!:-) What a lovely place my friend... enjoy your mild and subtle treatment! 6 Jan 2009 4:13pm @hugo poon: Hey, Hugo - the 'mild and subtle' go away in tomorrow's post. willow from Chelsea, United StatesI can see why it's a favorite - the composition is excellent. I like the bike in the foreground and the way the street leads the eye up the hill. Looks like a beautiful morning. 6 Jan 2009 5:20pm @willow: It was the beginning of a beautiful and warm day - and again that lush rich sunlight of the early morning - begging for my camera. JJ from Jersey City, United StatesGreat perspective, a beautiful city shot, I feel sorry for the jogger if she is heading up that hill, looks pretty steep 6 Jan 2009 6:06pm @JJ: Not to worry, JJ - this is the western edge of a long flat green space know as The Marina Green. It runs about 1.5 km ( 1 mile) between the homes along San Francisco's northern waterfront - and the yacht harbor at my back here. The prancing of joggers is near endless - from before the dawn and well into the night. sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesSometimes I dream of living where we wouldn't need a car....beautiful capture. 6 Jan 2009 6:40pm @sherri: Shhhh! Don't let Evie hear you talk like this! My guess Sherri, is you would make much good use of our fine public transit - but that with the boundless beauty of the coast and inland mountains - Evie would find many excuses to get out of town... Along with that camera! Suzanne from Huntington Bch, United StatesWonderful view of the city. The quality of light is so perfect for San Francisco. 6 Jan 2009 6:42pm EYES WIDE SHUT from The library of my soul, United KingdomA city that I'd love to visit, having seen so much in films and on TV. Those steep hills are the stuff of legend from so many car chase films that I grew up with. A terrific photograph 6 Jan 2009 7:04pm Rui from Leiria, PortugalInteresting view. Great perspective of the hill with the houses aligned. Great urban shot. 6 Jan 2009 7:50pm Aurélie from Bretagne, FranceHello, 6 Jan 2009 7:56pm Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomI like the steeply rising road going into the distance, wonderful shot, and it looks a very nice place. 6 Jan 2009 8:47pm Shrig from Washington, D.C., United StatesYour photos are amazingly clear and sharp. I'm sorry to make you homesick :( 6 Jan 2009 9:01pm Scott Schilling from San Martin, United StatesStephen, great clarity and color - so much that I feel like I am standing right there in the photo. Beautiful work - I really like the catch of the person jogging and the guy fixing his bike - it adds a lot of additional interest for me. 6 Jan 2009 9:52pm Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesNice peaceful scene. My daughter is an early morning runner. She'd love the challenge of those hills. 7 Jan 2009 1:54am Walter from Watkinsville, United StatesI have a friend from when we lived in Marietta, Ga who was from SF. He said he would be my personal tour guide some day. You are well on your way to giving me that tour he promised. Thank you. This is a great shot of the hills. 7 Jan 2009 2:50am @Walter: As you know Walter - nothing substitutes being some place - experiencing the light, the air, the people - and San Francisco does boast a good restaurant or two. All this to say - get your butt out here... melodia from ffm, Germanywhat a sunny happy pticture. it makes one loving cities ... ,) i really like your urban series. looking forward to more! 7 Jan 2009 3:40pm @melodia: more is on the way - thank you, melodia... |
