Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainA "brilliant" decoration, really. Good shot! 28 Dec 2008 8:17am EYES WIDE SHUT from A corner of Utopia, United KingdomLike stumbling upon Liberace's palace in a jungle, a terrific composition and effective image. Works superbly 28 Dec 2008 8:19am @EYES WIDE SHUT: YO! I love your notion. In fact - now I see the candelabra through the window. Is that Cassius Clay, standing by the piano? Luan from Darwin, AustraliaGreat framing! p.s. I really like your watermark too. 28 Dec 2008 9:26am @Luan: Luan - thank you. I adopted that watermark early in the year and you are the first person to comment on it! Calusarus from St Sorlin en Valloire, FranceImpressive decoration for this house… 28 Dec 2008 9:31am chrissy from London, United KingdomVery Nice!! very well framed, the house looks like a dolls house amongst the tress - great perspctive 28 Dec 2008 9:57am Mirko Herzner from Mühlheim am Main, GermanyIn Germany we sometimes make fun of the american way of xmas decoration. This looks nice, though... 28 Dec 2008 10:06am @Mirko Herzner: You'd be surprised, Mirko. There are many old and elegant neighborhoods throughout the U.S. that pride themselves in their lavish and classical Christmas decorations. One of my favorites is in the rural town of Woodland, about 30 km. north of the California Capitol of Sacramento. I hope to get up there this week for some photographs - before they begin to disappear. Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, FranceA luminous apparition in a curtain of greenery. Magic... as Christmas is... 28 Dec 2008 11:42am Betty from New Jersey, United StatesSuch a bright spot in all that greenery! That house was a wonderful find! Excellent shot! 28 Dec 2008 11:56am Marcie from United Stateswow! Love how you've seen and framed this. The house glows between the greenery!!! 28 Dec 2008 11:57am @Marcie: "Glows-R-Us" Thanks, Marcie. yz from Budapest, HungaryMagical shot! I like the different light temperature between the house and the trees. 28 Dec 2008 12:40pm @yz: Thank you, YZ - I'll confess to a little Photoshop™ to get this presentable. Chris from South Jersey, United Stateswow - those are some lights!! I like the framing of the house in the trees and plants... 28 Dec 2008 1:04pm Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaWow, they are devoted Christmas people...It's gorgeous! 28 Dec 2008 2:03pm @Lorraine: Thanks a lot, Lorraine. I'll refer you to the comment I made to Mirko. You'd be surprised at the number of folks who 'pull out all of the stops' for their decorations. Though their numbers seem to be declining this season. JJ from Jersey City, United Stateslove how you have framed this through the trees such a beautiful capture, they have sure gone all out decorating there house 28 Dec 2008 2:09pm Alphons from Kaatsheuvel, NetherlandsFairytalelike picture. Fine foreground and subject. Well captured. 28 Dec 2008 4:39pm willow from Chelsea, United StatesBeautiful place. I like the composition with the trees framing the house. Now I have the song stuck in my head..... 28 Dec 2008 5:11pm @willow: OK, willow - I have to ask - - - what song? hugo poon from hong kong, Hong KongThat's quite a feel!!! O.K. there's a kind of disharmony between the foreground (disorganized) and the subject (exqusitely decorated), but it's this disharmony that has enhanced the wonderful drama... Enjoy this alot! 28 Dec 2008 5:12pm @hugo poon: Thank, Hugo - I was traveling with a friend and we were both excited at finding this through the 'jungle'. And he was happy to stand watch for traffic navigating the narrow highway while I set the capture. roentarre from Melbourne, AustraliaThat house looks like a palace. Wonderful lightings and wow! 28 Dec 2008 8:28pm grant from kansas city, United Stateswow, what a great way of framing this wonderful scene! 29 Dec 2008 2:03am sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesJust beautiful...I love this "through the trees" view. 29 Dec 2008 2:29am @sherri: Thanks, Sherri - I just grinned when I came upon this scene. Suzanne from Huntington Bch, United StatesBeautiful. A sparkling jeewel with dreary surroundings. 30 Dec 2008 12:32am dobbino from Cape Town, South AfricaWhat a stunner - it's great to see the folk take so much effort to decorate their homes at this time of year. This is amazing. 30 Dec 2008 12:30pm |
