Fog Along the Road

Posted by Stephen Phillips (San Francisco, United States) on 29 October 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

We are heading back toward Loleta. This image demonstrates how changeable the weather was on this morning. Steady rain had given way to sunshine by the time I'd reached the beach. Now - as the sun warms the air upon the cool wet fields - fog has formed.

I am standing atop the bridge that connects Cannibal Island to the Eel River flood plain - facing east. It is beautiful here. The air is sweet. The dominant sound is of ocean surf. Storm driven waves churning and breaking along the beach just behind me.

[notebook]: My continued apologies to all of you. My schedule has gone off-the-scale busy just now. I'm most grateful for the work - but also aware that it's a the price of not tending to the most encouraging comments I've been receiving here. My thanks for your kind words and understanding. My hope is that things will return to 'normal' soon.
