Life in Loleta - looking west

The church, stores and the dairy are two blocks up the hill to my left - here we are on Eel River Drive - facing west. This road bends around to connect to State Highway 101 (2 km) and thena short distance more to find the little towns of Fernbridge, Ferndale, and Fortuna.The Eel River is about 1 km ( 0.6 mi) ahead - The Pacific Ocean is beyond the pastures to the right.

[notebook]: this image along with the following two - are archival from my first visit to Loleta in 2006.

@dogilicious: You might see three cars go by - and then not see another car for fifteen minutes. Not much of a rush hour here.
