Lorraine from CanadaOH WOW...I wish there was a whistle button, this is totally glorious, bravo Stephen :) 30 Aug 2008 7:28am @Lorraine: 'A whistle button' - now there is a novel idea. Lorraine, you are the best! Thanks. Kylie Greenan from Richmond, AustraliaW O W! I love Lorraine's comment and absolutely agree it's hard to convey a strong reaction to an image with words but, I did have with this one and I'm whistling also! Superb! 30 Aug 2008 8:39am @Kylie Greenan: Thanks so much. Lorraine's thought was appreciated but gave me pause. I thought, hey - there are days it could get really noisy around the old AM3 light table. Confetti, maybe? Anthony Lambert from Bielefeld, GermanyGreat capture,my eye just gets drawn right in,well done. 30 Aug 2008 12:58pm Thomas Griffioen from Rotterdam, NetherlandsMagnificant sky! I just love the silhouettes and mirroring. Fantastic moment Stephen! 30 Aug 2008 2:06pm sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesOh, how pretty. Such beauty you've captured. 30 Aug 2008 2:24pm Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesFantastic, Stephen ... you get a whistle from me also ... love the intensity of the colors in the reflection. 30 Aug 2008 3:56pm alex centrella from California, United Stateswow, very dramatic sky and colors...bravo ! 30 Aug 2008 4:02pm Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainA splendid sky and reflection, I like the symmetry of the composition. 30 Aug 2008 4:03pm Alun Lambert from cheshire, United Kingdommagnificent image. love the colours the dof the lines i could go on and on. 30 Aug 2008 5:10pm paulski from Muncie, IN, United Statesas much as i love this, as stunning as it is at first glance, what really makes this for me is the tiny human figures on top otf the rock. wow! talk about changing your persepctive on the enormity of a scene. superb! 30 Aug 2008 5:11pm @paulski: Thanks. This is a fabulous beach and this was the first time I ever climbed all the way down to the shoreline. It is quite a hike back up to the parking area. These four kids were perfect to the shot. The sunset was stellar. I'd posted an earlier image from this series on July 3rd: http: yz from Budapest, HungaryGreat composition and the three figures are just the cherry on the pie 30 Aug 2008 8:05pm @yz: It's been a while since I've sampled some cherry pie, YZ - sounds pretty good. Thanks... Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomI have viewed this image for about five minutes, I think the words I must use are - epic and magical. It is an extraordinary beautiful image Stephen. The figures on the rock reflecting in the pool, and that awesome cloud, and sunset...... top quality. 30 Aug 2008 10:18pm @Observing: Thanks, Mike - this was one of those rare times a photographer gets that 'can't miss' grin on his face and just knows he'll wind up with a handful of winners. I had my good equipment and tripod and had plenty of time to decide where to be at sunset - the sky just kept building and building toward a spectacular finale. One from Açores, PortugalVery good image, wonderful moments, great layout, very nice reflections on the water, stunning the color of the sky. 31 Aug 2008 4:11am bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaThis is one of those moments that we all wait for, that we all hope to capture. This is truly an amazing photograph and I am (nearly) speechless! 31 Aug 2008 5:00am DarkElf from Perth, Australiafantastic sunset composition... i like the rocks coming across the frame from left to right and the band of clouds formed in vertical direction... for some reason they work very well together and the reflection in perfectly still water is brilliant too! 31 Aug 2008 6:09am Margie from Auckland, New ZealandWhistles...confetti...there should be something! This is just awesome. It made me say "wow!" out loud. Bravo. 31 Aug 2008 6:43am Lorraine from United Stateslol how about a chord of Sadie's gymnopedie no 1 or Canon in D;) Love Kylie's comment :) 31 Aug 2008 9:02am @Lorraine: Oh, Lorraine - It would need to be the Canon in 'Five - D'. You've started a flood of possibilities that would work here. Nielsen's Symphony No. 4 came immediately to mind - but then the desire for something more peaceful. Debussy's 'Clair de Lune' would work. Would someone wake up Brian Eno? Which brings me full circle to Eric Satie. The Gymnopedie No. 1 it is. Kylie gets to conduct. See you on the beach! Magda from Vancouver, Canadaabsolutely amazing! the colours, the lighting, the sky, the reflection...... wow! beautifully done! 1 Sep 2008 7:05am dj.tigersprout from New York City, United Statestruly splendid!!! what a view and beautiful sunset -- gorgeous!! 6 Jul 2009 12:56pm |
