What a curious reflection, Stephen. It made me do a double take, because the image at a glance didn't sit well with me. Then I realized was I was looking at. Interesting caputre!

@Daily Phototherapy: Confession time. I'd set my camera and tripod. The rainbow was beginning to fade - when a pick-up truck with its headlights on approached - illuminating the sign from the side. The result has a 'twilight zone' eeriness about it. (hey, it IS nearly twilight after all). I like the image because it isn't 'safe'.
Unique and very interesting mood... great find and very well captured!!!

What a nice work here Stephen. This would work so good with a silhouette person looking at the rainbow ... But I guess we all don't carry around our silhouette dummies all the time ;-)

@Mirko Herzner: Sometimes I carry a 'silhouette' person around. She would resent being called a dummy, I suspect.
wow -- great contrast here with the bright yellow sign and the the muddy earth and pool of rainwater. i am loving the bare branches -- real and reflected and the dynamic two-tone sky! :)

@dj.tigersprout: Hey, DJ - thanks.
great shot! yes, there's just something about traffic signs that begs us to shoot them...

@djedfre: ...yeah, lots of signs and orange cones in this guy's portfolio. Oh, and fire hydrants. And trains. What's with this?
interesting mix of elements; the sign, the dead tree, the rainbow, the sunset. almost unsettling in its incongruity. well done...

@paulski: Paulski - thank you and I agree - the image is somewhat unsettling. The 'trees' aren't dead. 'Tis cotton in winter. The year was dead - this was taken at sunset on December 31st.
An odd combination of elements in this capture. After I saw it was to stop for the rainbow, I smiled:-)

@sherri: There is a little 'Alfred Hitchcock' in me. I like it when he visits.

Great composition with the sign and rainbow, very creative. Like the dramatic sky and the reflections too. BTW Stephen I rebuilt my web site, my new url is www.sirius2photography.com
