@Mike: Thanks, Mike. Tamales bay is indeed - lovely. One of my all time favorite get-aways and an easy hour's drive from San Francisco. That (click) usually (click) takes me (click) about (click) three hours (click, click, click).

beautiful shot Stephen, excellent colors -- this reminds me of a day in Iceland when i went sea kayaking for the first time in 10 years and ended up tipping over... wasn't as bad as i would have thought... wasn't even freezing! of course i dragged myself out of the water and was laughing so hard... probably kept me warm! no matter, i dried off and got right back to it! did much better after that... since i was no longer afraid! :)

@dj.tigersprout: Thanks for sharing this story! Tomales Bay is fairly shallow and warms up considerably, compared to the ocean water. I swim here a fair amount during the summer and fall.
