@Observing: Thanks, Mike. I was driving north along California Highway 1 and could see that a magnificent sunset was in the making - the only question for me was where to be as it happened.
I was so glad I chose this spot. It is a fairly steep hike down to the beach - and this image was taken about half way down. I proceeded all the way to the many tide pools and got nearly two dozen images - all of them really good. More will follow, here. It was well worth the climb back to the car in near darkness - an unforgettable sunset.
Definitely joy of light! Beautiful, and I love the backlight on the grass!

@sherri: Sherri - thanks. Allow me to say there was no crouching. My tripod was at full height. In winter, these grasses can grow to 10 feet or higher. This image was taken this last December 13th.
Super silhouette! Wonderful colors - this is a compelling image! Very well done.

marvelous job here Stephen! simply gorgeous! i went to UCSC and we use to have a good number of full moon beach parties out here... brings back memories of the sun coming up! hope your weekend was awesome!
